Once the war, the bayonet lug was extra to many M1 carbines throughout the arsenal refurbishing method. By the start in the Korean War, the bayonet lug-equipped M1 was standard problem. It is currently uncommon to find an original M1 carbine without the bayonet lug. The M1 carbine mounts the M4 bayo
